Philosophical inquiry into the nature of political ideology through a comparison of German cultural nationalism and marxism-Leninism. ABSTRACT: Philsosophical inquiry into the nature of political iedeology and ideological political movements. Compares German cultural nationalism and Marxism-Leninism, both in their intellectual origins (Nietzch, Wagner, Marx) and in the actual political movements that they generated (the nationalistic "conservative revolutionary" movement of the Weimar Republic, Hitler's National Socialism, the neo-Marxist American New Left, the SDS, and the Black Panthers).
