A Survey-Bibliography of East German Literature

Bibliography of East German literature, both as a research tool for other scholars and as a necessary prelude to a survey of East German literature which fellow plans. Only two bibliographic works have been compiled in this country on the subject and they fail to list much of the scholarly criticism of East German works which has appeared in East European journals, despite the fact that these publications are available in US. This is due in part to the fact that some East German writers have not been identified as such and, while exalted at home, have not been publicized abroad. Bibliography will cover both primary and secondary sources, both originals and translations.
