Translation of Japanese Literature

ABSTRACT: Research for two translations of Japanese literature: 1) a collection of poems by Tanigawa Shuntaro; and 2) an anthology of contemporary Japanese literature (being done with Prof. Noah S. Brannen of International Christian University). Fellow to consult with Japanese authors involved in order to arrive at an accurate translation. Fellow founded Japan's first Poetry Institute in 1968 and is personally acquainted with most of the authors involved.
