To develop a working knowledge of writings in the field of social and ethical values in medicine, together with an understanding of the relevant factual information. In particular focus are those fields of medicine in which rapid advancement in both theoretical and practical techniques of therapy have brought into a critical state the adequacy of our traditional concepts and values.
