To examine in depth the postwar relations between the U.S. and Greece and to assess the impact of these relations upon Greece, American foreign policy and the Atlantic alliance. The interaction between the U.S. and Greece in the postwar years illustrates a major component of international politics in the Cold War. It serves as an accurate barometer of the East-West conflict and demonstrates the internal strengths and weaknesses of the Atlantic Alliance.
