To edit, in conjunction with Professor R.E. ParselL of Cook University, North Queens land, Australia, the six MS. volumes of notes Butler compiled during his lifetime. Volume One was completed but many of Butler's references to his friends and family require more on the spot research. Literary executors issued an invitation to discus with them publication. Study of these hitherto unpublished notes will throw a great deal of light on intellectual currents of the century's last three decades--Butler was actively engaged in the Darwinian controversy.
