FAIN: FT-12468-75

George W. Fasel
Mizzou (Columbia, MO 65211-3020)

To investigate the Industrial Revolution in England in order to determine how (and if) the fact of industrialization's transformation of property registered in the English consciousness during the 19th century. The particular focus will be the degree to which perception of the change kept pace with the change itself, the extent of resistance to the change, the varying modes of adjustment. In this investigation, the P.I. is relying upon literary and philosophical materials from the period.
