FAIN: FT-13665-78

Eloise M. Angiola
University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, AL 35487-0001)

Study will deal with the classicizing style of Romanesque sculpture in Pisa. Focus will be on Guglielmo of Pisa, founder of the school of sculpture that flourished in Pisa and neighboring cities (especially Provence) in the second half of the 12th century. Work will deal specifically with the style and iconography of Guglielmo's principal work, the large, historiated pulpit made for the Cathedral of Pisa between 1159 and 1162.
