To study the revival of the Marxist-anarchist debate within the Spanish workers' movement. The return of civil liberties following Franco's death has rekindled this conflict, which was a crucial element in the events of the Spanish Civil War. The theoretical and historical impact of this debate necessitates interviews with both leaders and rank-and-file activists of all important Marxist and anarchist movements. Questions such as the nature of freedom, authority, and the state and strategic issues such as political action, the necessity of a post-capitalist transition phase, and the role of individual terror and violence in revolutionary change will be dealt with.
