Supports a national conference of scholars and civil rights movement activists to plan and develop a series of public programs on the history of the civil rights movement of the past 20 years.

To provide a forum for discussing methodological problems in executing research. Scholars will assist local communities in examining the changes brought about by the Civil Rights Movement.
