To disseminate the first translations of contemporary Iranian plays and critical commentary on the synthesis of Western and Persian dramatic traditions to a general audience. These translations and commentaries will 1) acquaint the English-speaking world with drama of significant literary value and 2) offer greater insights into the culture of a country that is emerging as a leader among developing nations and facing problems common to modern society.
