To plan a study of applachian literature, music, children's games, architecture and folk art for county youths.

To help the youth in Clay County, N.C., become familiar with their Appalachian heritage through a study & research of (1) writings of authors born in Appalachia, (2) folk religious music and musical instruments, (3) children's rhymes, riddles, tricks, & jokes indigenous to Clay County.
