Initial working papers to help situate and launch the National Commission on the Sustainability of Digital Humanities Resources and Projects.

The project will convene and support a National Commission on the Sustainability of Digital Humanities Resources and Projects.  The Commission will ensure that the broad community of stakeholders defines and understands the issues and the possible models, financial and institutional, that can protect these collections, tools, and learning materials.  The growing dependence on digital resources that support teaching and research in the humanities at all levels of the educational system is exciting; at the same time, librarians, museum professionals, and scholars have a growing level of concern about the organizational and financial models for stewarding these ever-more important resources.  The Commission will produce and disseminate recommendations.
