To support a comprehensive program to improve archival security. Proposal is designed to (1) investigate the full extent of the problem; (2) sensitize the profession to the problem and encourage exchange of information regarding incidents which are now often unreported; (3) provide a registry of stolen and missing material; (4) develop a body of information concerning legal problems, recommended security systems personnel procedures, which will be compiled in an Archival Security Manual.
