To continue the Dance Collection’s oral history program in a 2-year project designed to produce original, taped in-depth interviews of some 4-00 hours with important dancers and choreographers. The projects will focus on interviewing "clusters" of colleagues of each of 8 seminal figures: Balanchine, Lucia Chase, Danilova, Massine, Martha Graham, Frederick Ashton, Nimette de Valois and Alicia Markova. Tapes and their transcripts are catalogued comprehensively for their Inclusion in the Dictionary Catalog of the Dance Collection, updated yearly in a published supplement and made available throughout the world.
