To make the French and Spanish colonial records of Louisiana available for scholarly research by editing, indexing, calendaring, and microfilming the records of the French Superior Council, 1714- 1769 and the Spanish Cabildo, 1769-1803. They are an important resource for the study and interpretation of the socio-economic and political history of colonial Louisiana.
