To create a complete card catalog of the 30,000 piece Corning Sheet Music Collections which contains materials dating from 1790 to 1900. A pilot program has been completed, and a refined cross-reference system is ready to be used. The catalog will service musicians, musicologists, social historians, and students of the history of printing; the growing interest in studying and performing 19th- century music will be partially answered in the 300,000—card catalog.
