To complete a program to survey and preserve the records of American ethnic voluntary associations. Results of the project will be (1) the systematic compilation of ethnic fraternal records, (2) the preservation of major segments of fraternal records through archival deposit and microfilming and, (3) improved accessibility and greater utilization of fraternal records as sources for research in several humanistic disciplines: music, art, literature, and folk culture of ethnic groups.
