To establish the American Center of the International Photographic Archive of Papyri to create a comprehensive and permanent record of surviving ancient Egyptian papyri in the J.S. and other countries. The center will collect prints and negatives, with the dual purpose of preserving these care records from decay, and making them more accessible to papyrologists and scholars in related fields.
