To complete the Folger Library Edition of the Works of Richard Hooker, a prose writer of the English Renaissance. The eight-volume edition, critically edited and with full commentary, is published by the Belknap Press of Harvard University Press. Under way since 1967, two volumes have been published; continued NEH support will allow this collaborative project, whose contributors are scattered across North America, to near final completion.
