The project will edit the law reports of the general courts (or eyres ) held in four English counties during the period 1329-1331. Occupying a period of about 18 months, these were the only general court convenings of their time and the last general courts ever held. The reports help chronicle a time when English Society was beset with economic difficulties more severe than perhaps at any time before the present century. The Selden Society has agreed informally to publish the edition (when completed).
