To complete the scholarly edition of al-Maqrizi's Kitab almawa'iz wa-'l- tibar bi-dhikr al-khitat wa-'l-athar begun by Gaston Niet and to produce a complete annotated translation of the work which is an important source for the history and topography of medieval, pre-Ottoman Egypt. Work will include indices, a glossary of technical terms, a mini-dictionary of linguistic usage not attested elsewhere, an introduction and a preface.
