The project is an annotated translation, with introduction, of a non-stageable, five-act lyric drama composed by a seventeenth-century Spanish author. Extensive annotation will clarify for the nonspecialist the relationship of the complex multi-level dialogue to contemporary Spanish civilization and to the humanistic heritage of the West.
