To translate and publish a selection of plays by the most preeminent and productive playwright of the Yuan period in Chinese history (A.D. 1200-1368). Yuan drama is the Golden Age and the classical forbearer of all Chinese theatre. Knowledge and appreciation of Chinese drama are indispensable to an understanding of Chinese culture.
