To review the teachings of Ahmad Ibn Hanbal (d.855), an early Islamic legal and religious thinker, and to translate and public a critical edition of the sections on marriage and divorce. This will represent the first time that all Hanbali family law material appears together. Notes explicating the translation along with a glossary, bibliography and index will be included.
