To support the archaeological excavation and analysis of excavated materials from the ancient city of Stobi (Yugoslavia).
To permit study and analysis of the materials and information recovered at the site of the ancient city of Stobi in Yugoslavian Macedonia, some conservation at the site, and the preparation of the definitive publications. The aims of this joint US-Yugoslavian Project have been: to determine the chronological and spatial limits of life at Stobi, to study the evolving technology, living conditions, social structure, religious life, and mercantile activities of the city; complete the excavation of the 2 main areas, and complete the ieological investigation of the immediate region.
