Paper and Printing in Chinese Civilization

To investigate the true origin and development of paper- making and printing in traditional Chinese culture, from their earliest beginnings to the end of the 19th century. Literary records and scientific and archeological reports an artifacts will be examined. The resulting book will be of interest to students of the history of art, of technology, and of Chinese culture in general and of paper and printing in particular.
