To transliterate and edit the administrative texts unearthed among the over 1400 Ur II and Old Babylonian cuneiform tablets excavated by the University of Chicago in the 1930s. This is the largest body of material documenting the period from 2000 B.C. to 1900 B.C., but the tablets have never been systematically published. To make these texts available would be a major contribution to socio-historical studies of a poorly documented age of Mesopotamian history.
