A History of Building Technology

To fund basic research in the initial phase of a comprehensive, long-term program on the history of building technology. The research will be interdisciplinary, utilizing the skills of historians, architects, and craftsmen familiar with the resource materials who will synthesize the historic documentation with architectural evidence found in surviving period buildings. Material will be of particular interest to those attempting to preserve old buildings and to scholars concerned with material culture.
