John A. Brinkman (Project Director: May 1977 to October 1990)

The purpose of the project is the reconstruction of the political, social, and economic institutions of Babylonia under the Kassite dynasty, 1595-1155 B.C. Because 95% of the original texts pertaining to this era remain unpublished, this important period is little known to historians. Over one-third of the documents have already been prepared as preliminary editions; this project will complete the process.
