Language Maintenance in Romanian Communities

To support a two-year study of Romanian language maintenance in the U.S. PI will interview 250 Romanian-Americans representing three generations, analyze data, and produce a monograph-length final report. Study will contribute to the understanding of the role of language in maintaining ethnic identity, and of the processes of language maintenance in a US minority group.
