To support a comparative history of the Russian and Chinese revolutions which will also illuminate the complex struggles which underlie much recent "third world" history. Study will analyze the indigenous development of each society's revolution in a chronological approach, will consider special features of the Russian and Chinese experience on a thematic plane and will conclude with a chapter on "revolution and change in the contemporary world."
