To conduct necessary research and prepare the text for a guide to state programs in field of historic preservation. ABSTRACT: To conduct necessary research and prepare the text for a guide to state programs in field of historic preservation. No such guide presently exists. Need for this information in both public and private sector increasingly evident with implementation by the states of federal-state programs emanating from National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. Local, county, state and Federal governmental agencies, private individuals and organizations need to know sources for services and assistance in state government. An inventory or comparative programs and their financial support would serve as a useful programs and their financial support would serve as a useful tool in encouraging further development of other state programs. Plan to define items to be included, prepare and distribute questionnaires conduct personal interviews where necessary, collect data and prepare the text for publication. National Trust will publish. Result: a published, indexed guide to state programs concerned with protection, rehabilitation, restoration and reconstruction of districts, sites, buildings, structures and objects significant in American history, architecture, archeology and culture.
