To provide for continued research into the history of Mexican labor migration from 1910 to 1970, including special studies of U.S. immigration policy and practice toward Mexico, the migratory labor system in the Southwest, Mexican labor and settlement in California and Texas as well as an economic and sociological interpretation of Mexican labor and Mexican acculturation.
