FAIN: RO-11675-73

Historic New England (Boston, MA 02114-2702)
Jane C. Nylander (Project Director: July 1973 to present)

This study will examine both documentary and physical evidence concerning household furnishings in common use in small, early 19th century, industiral communities in New England. The findings should be useful to the many scholars who are today studying social, demographic and economic questions relating to the transformation of rural America in the 19th century.
