The Cupola of Santa maria del Fiore

This project comprises an in-depth investigation of the cupola of the cathedral church of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, Italy, including on-the-site investigation of the monument, survey measurements of the cupola curvature and the inclination of the supporting piers, and the transcription of all unpublished documents concerning this monument. Main object of the work to be done during the grant period is the completion of the draft manuscript to be entitled The Cupola of Santa maria del Fiore, to be written in collaboration with R.J. Mainstone and to be published by A. Zwemmer, London.
