Fred Grubel (Project Director: July 1973 to present)
The Leo Baeck Institute, Inc. is concerned with preserving the history of German-speaking Jewry from the late 18th century until its destruction by the Hitler regime. The project involves collecting and microfilming of the complete series of 752 periodicals published by Jewish editors and/or on Jewish subjects in Central Europe. The resulting collection of Jewish periodicals will be unique in the U.S., and probably, the world.
