Ron Kley (Project Director: July 1975 to present)

To allow an underwater survey of 39 American Revolutionary shipwreck sites in Penobscot River. The project will also provide for archaeological sampling of each wreck site located: for adaptation of existing conservation techniques to the preservation of selected artifacts of major historical or archaeological significance; and for the preparation of a research report summarizing the archaeological and historical potential of each wreck site and recommending specific conservation procedures to insure long-term preservation of recovered artifacts.
