Meeting of Soviet and American Quantitative Historians

To support a meeting between the American Historical Associations Committee on Quantitative History and its Soviet counterparts in order to plan conferences, publications and joint research projects in the social sciences and humanities. Ultimate results should include: a) increased access to, and exchanges of archival materials both raw and machine readable; b) comparative research on parallel themes in American and Russian history; and c) freer communication of substantive and methodological advances between centers of research that "hitherto ' have been isolated from one another.
