To research and write the contact-history of the Sioux confederation. PI will examine tribal, state, provincial, federal and mission documents, plus published sources, biographies, special monographs, general histories, memoirs, newspapers and oral histories. A bibliography will be included and will be enlarged and annotated for publication under separate cover.
