FAIN: RS-*0170-78

Museum of New Mexico Foundation (Santa Fe, NM 87501-4326)
Marcus J. Smith (Project Director: August 1977 to October 1990)

To write and publish a history of the St. Vincent Hospital, Santa Fe, New Mexico, from its inception in 1865 to its transfer to secular ownership in 1973. The hospital and its religious order will be analyzed as a socializing influence among the disparate cultures living at the end of the Santa Fe Trail. The impact of technological and social change will also be explored.
