To support a study of Cheyenne beadwork which will 1) give its history (ca. 1800-ca. 1900) in terms of economics and stylistic developments; 2) give a formal analysis of the Cheyenne decorative style; and 3) provide procedures for dating. PI will research artifact collections and archives, do field work among crafts women and write up and illustrate the results.
