To create a detailed lexicon of ancient Jewish Greek scriptures (the "Septuagint"). Computer-assisted organization of data will produce additional research tools such as concordances, and textual and grammatical/syntactical analyses. These resources, along with the Lexicon, would be helpful to scholars in Biblical studies (including the New Testament) and also for the study of Judaism and Christianity in the Graeco-Roman and medieval/Byzantine periods, as well as for Greek philosophy in general. Grant period covers Phase I, a feasibility study for the project.
