The project will continue support of the collection and computer-assisted organization of data from the numerous biographical dictionaries in Arabic and Persian dating from the period 800-1600 A.D. These documents supply a vast amount of information on individuals, and on the political, social, and cultural history of Islam and its institutions. Funding will support, specifically, the collection and organization of data from the biographies of poets.
