Hiring of four staff positions to enhance the post-pandemic in-person and virtual visitor experience.
Winterthur will hire four staff members to fill one vacancy in the library and three new positions to help address staffing shortages. These four staff members will help Winterthur to continue to offer excellent humanities programming for the general public, provide access to interdisciplinary humanities content, evaluate visitors’ current onsite and digital needs, create dynamic digital interactives for exhibitions, and reach goals planned for 2022 and 2023.

Abstract: This report presents the findings of the survey of visitors to the introductory house tour conducted between July and December of 2022. The main goal of the study was to better understand the needs and characteristics of visitors who chose to take this tour, particularly given the many ways it has changed in the recent past.
Specific objectives were to identify what expectations visitors have of Winterthur; describe visitation patterns to Winterthur; Identify which house tour topics and themes visitors were most interested in and curious about (both interest in current content and unsatisfied curiosity); assess other aspects of the visitor experience and how they affect the house tour experience (wayfinding, sense of belonging, other activities visitors engaged in on their visit); and determine guests’ demographic and psychographic characteristics (gender, race, education, age, residence; leisure activities, similar institutions visited.
