Abstract: Thanks to grant support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, we’re excited to partner with the Minnesota Humanities Center to present Echoes of War—NEH discussion leader training. Through a mix of carefully selected readings, guided discussion, lectures, and field trip experiences, participants in the workshop will prepare to lead community conversations on the topic of history, collective memory and war memorials, as we explore how those themes relate to veterans’ experiences of war.

Abstract: In collaboration with the Minnesota Humanities Center, Carleton College will host a weekly public discussion series “Echoes of War,” addressing questions regarding the way in which war is memorialized. The series will be held Tuesdays, Oct. 11 through Nov. 1, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The first three sessions will be held in the Meeting Room of the Carleton College Alumni Guest House; the final session will be held at the Minnesota Humanities Center in St. Paul.
