Projects that mark the 50th Anniversary of Alaska statehood including the Alaska Constitutional Convention Almanac Radio Broadcast series, a convention for high-school and college students and a re-grant program.

The year 2009 marks the 50th Anniversary of Alaska Statehood. A landmark event preceeding Statehood was the Alaska Constitutional Convention. It spanned 76 days from November 8, 1955 until February 6, 1956. Plans to celebrate this landmark occasion are cropping up across the state. Through the 2005 We The People Initiative, the Alaska Humanities Forum aims to insure that these celebrations enjoy rich historical content in many formats, targeting Alaskans of all ages.
