The New Californians Exhibition builds on the success of five projects conducted during the California Council for the Humanities' 2005 California Stories Uncovered campaign. Immigrant youth from countries ranging from Russia to the Republic of the Congo worked with award-winning photographers and writing instructors to create 5 exhibits in communities ranging from the San Francisco Bay Area to Orange County. The Exhibition program will be a collaboration between the Council and other cultural institutions to expand these efforts and bring them to new communities and audiences statewide. |
