In this sixth We the People proposal, the LEH will continue its efforts to explore the points of convergence in the historical narratives of the United States as a whole, and of Louisiana as a distinctive component of that union. Through We the People-supported, scholar-led public humanities programs including council regrants; Museum on Main Street projects; reading and discussion programs; and the quarterly journal Louisiana Cultural Vistas, the LEH intends to involve thousands of Louisiana residents in a probing and ongoing conversation about Louisiana?s contributions to American culture ? and how, inversely, the march of American history shaped Louisiana. |
