Two one-week workshops for 100 school teachers examining James Madison's Constitutional thought and Montpelier as evidence of Madison's life.

The Montpelier Foundation is seeking funding for the second year to conduct two seven-day "Landmarks of American History: Workshops for School teachers" during the summer of 2006. The Workshop -- James Madison and Constitutional Citizenship -- will combine advanced scholarship on Madison and the Constitution, paired with an examination of James Madison's Montpelier as one of the central sites in the creation of the American Constitution. The workshop will be offered back-to-back, at James Madison's Montpelier and at Woodberry Forest School, utilizing the same university-level experts each week.
